“Indian classical music and dance are not just for entertainment – they are designed to elevate your consciousness”

Sadhguru

Yaksha is a 7-day cultural festival celebrated annually during the months of February and March. The festival  culminates in the Mahshivarathri festival, and features 7 consecutive nights of musical concerts and dance by some of the greatest artists in India. Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Pandit Jasraj, and Ustad Amjad Ali Khan are among the doyens of Indian classical music who have performed at Yaksha.

The name of “Yaksha” refers to the celestial beings in Indian mythology. Yaksha provides a common platform for the artistes to perform and connoisseurs to see and appreciate these ancient arts performed by masters as well as novices. It is an endeavor to preserve and promote the uniqueness, purity and diversity of the country’s performing arts. Artistic presentations which in their subtlety and vibrancy evoke the profoundness and depth inherent in India’s ancient culture, provide an opportunity for people from across the world to discover and experience the beauty of these art forms.
